Everything we make is worn by a baby, so this page matters more than any other. Please read it once, and keep it handy.
The magnetic closures
- Each magnet is sealed in its own casing and sewn inside the placket, between layers of fabric, with reinforced stitching. It is not accessible to the child and is not designed to be removed.
- The closures hold through everyday movement and open with a deliberate pull that an adult can do one handed and a baby cannot.
- Check the placket before each wear. If the fabric over a magnet is torn, or a magnet feels loose or has moved, stop using the garment immediately, keep it out of reach, and email kieramonnier06@gmail.com. We replace it under warranty.
- Small magnets can cause serious internal injury if swallowed. Our closures are built so this cannot happen in normal use, but a damaged garment must not be worn.
- If your child has a medical device or implant, or a caregiver wears a pacemaker or another implanted device, ask a doctor before using magnetic closures. As a precaution, keep the closures a few inches away from such devices.
- Do not iron over the closures, and do not put a garment in a microwave to dry it.
Sleepwear and safe sleep
- Sizes NB to 9-12M are cut for babies under 9 months. Sizes 12-18M and 18-24M are cut snug fitting. Snug fitting garments are safer near a heat source because loose fabric ignites more easily. None of our garments are flame resistant. Keep every garment away from open flames, candles, stoves, heaters and cigarettes.
- Follow safe sleep guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics: baby on the back, on a firm flat surface, no loose blankets, pillows or bumpers. A sleepsuit is clothing, not a sleep aid, and does not replace that guidance.
- Dress your baby for the room temperature. If the neck feels hot or sweaty, remove a layer.
Bibs
- Never leave a baby unattended while wearing a bib, and never put a baby down to sleep wearing one.
- Remove the bib after each meal. Wash before first use.
Sizing
Go by your baby's weight and length, not by age. A garment that is too small pulls on the closures and restricts movement. Between two sizes, take the larger one.
Our standards
Our products are designed for infants and are supplied to meet the requirements of the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, including limits on lead and phthalates, tracking labels and the applicable rules for children's sleepwear. Fabrics are tested for harmful substances. Any certification claims on a product page refer to the fabric supplier's certification, and we can provide the reference on request at kieramonnier06@gmail.com.
Recalls and reports
